NEWS – Ramin Karimloo Releases Debut Album With Sony Records!

Ramin doesn’t look like your average Olivier-nominated musical theatre superstar – playing roles including Jean Valjean in Les Miserables and as the iconic Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera, including the 25th anniversary spectacular at the Royal Albert Hall- and that’s because he is so much more than you would expect.

He has an arm full of tattoos – everything from trees to angels to poetry – and a trilby straight from Shoreditch. He looks more like someone from Red Hot Chilli Peppers that you never noticed before. He is stunning, with looks somewhere between Latin matinee idol and ruggedly handsome Brando-esque actor and his voice is amazing-  a thing of natural wonder, but while it can often blow the roof off, it can also, crucially, do understatement as well.

His debut album ‘Ramin’ is out on March 5th on Sony Music. Produced by Tom Nichols (Celine Dion, Hayley Westenra) it’s a diary entry from one of the world’s great vocal talents that includes not only his own compositions but covers of Bryan Adams and Muse songs, his take on the mighty Music of the Night from Phantom of the Opera as well as brand new material  from songwriting heavyweights like Ryan Tedder (Leona Lewis’ Bleeding Love).

“I always wanted to record my own album,” says Ramin. “I’m so glad I now have.”  His legion of fans, and there are many, will undoubtedly think likewise.

Ramin Karimloo is an Iranian-born Canadian and unquestionably one of musical theatre’s modern greats.  He has been critically acclaimed as one of, if not the, greatest Phantom for his display in the 25th Anniversary Concert of Phantom of The Opera at The Royal Albert Hall and has received several Best Actor awards plus a prestigious Olivier Award nomination. He is now taking on the lead role of Jean Valjean in Cameron Mackintosh’s West End production of Les Misérables.

Thousands, millions of people have already seen him perform: as Fueilly in Les Miserables, and also in the roles of Marius and Enjolras. He has appeared in Pirates of Penzance and Jesus Christ Superstar, Phantom of the Opera and Miss Saigon. And in 2010, he originated the leading role in the  sequel to Phantom, Love Never Dies.

Ramin a name not to forget … don’t miss out.
